During a project with conducting research at bike lanes and analyzing data I had to do several things. One of the requirements I had to do was to make a visual to help better understand what the data was telling us. My group made a survey with a series of questions and asked them at several different bike lanes on Purdue’s campus. I had to learn how to make a visual that tells the information effectively and is usable by anyone who would be reading it. I made sure it had clear labels and all the variables are labeled and had a clear title.
“This visual here is effective in showing how people on Purdue’s campus who ride bikes think of there bike lanes at certain locations. These results were from a survey given to 117 students who bike at these locations. If we look at these results the bike lanes at Engineering Mall and Grant Street seem to be significantly higher than the others. I believe though that many of the differences are given by how wide the lane is, many of the locations where the bike lane is wider the satisfaction is wider.”
